In most cases this software based Calculator can be used as a common (Desktop) PC Printing Calculator by the use of the numeric keyboard of your computer add some additional keyboard keys for special functions.
Of course you can use mouse as well, but for fast working the keyboard is the recommanded option. This is why each and every function is accessible by keyboard!
Value input, basic (arithmetical) operation and result calculation can be done by keyboard access.
Command Buttons, having a character of its Caption underlined can be accessed by just pressing this key on the keyboard.
All other Command Buttons can by accessed by a combination of Ctrl key and some other key. A hint on which key to use, is displayed with the Tool Tip of the Command Button (place mouse over the Command Button and wait a second to see the Tool Tip).

The Tape Roll records your input add all operations. By clicking the corresponding Command Buttons the Tape can be delete, printed, stored to a file (and so restored from file as well) or copied to clipboard and pasted to other applications like your word processor or spreedsheet software.
Please use the appropriate labeled Command Buttons near the tape to access the operatins Copy, Print, Delete, Store and Load.

On order to operate intermediate results, PC Printing Calculator has a Memory. By the use of the Command Buttons M+, M-, RM and CM, you can add and subtract values to and from the Memory, get the current value from that memory and of course reset the Memory.

Clicking 'Settings' Command Button will display a dialog which enbales you the select a number of indivual settings - listed below.

If this option is selected, clicking the Delete Command Button (below the Type) will delete the tape and also reset the calculator (as if CE Command Button is clicked). This is probably the behavior you expect mostly.
Delete Tape positions on Del key
If this option is selected, you can remove positions from the tape. To do so, place the cursor in tapes Pos column and press the Del key. The current calculation will of course be recomputed after deleting a position.
If this option is selected, you're able to add up to 40 characters of descriptive text to each position of the Tape. In order to enable this, an addtional column is added to the tape. Click the desiered row of the tape (row and column) and type the recommanded text. If the Tape is active, your keyboard input is considered to be description. To restore the default operation mode, just press Tab key.
An alternate display mode. This has no influence on operating the PC Printing Calculator. Best to do: Try and see.
If you activate this option, the input behavior auf the calculator changes. Usually the input behavior is similar to a Desktop Calculator:
After a value input you select the recommand operation and both is processed immediately. Sample: The calculation 25 * 5 - 15 = 110 is processed, by typing in values and and operatores in excatly this order (of course instead of the equal sign you press the Enter key).
If the PC Printing Calculator mode is activate, the calculator behaves like PC Printing Calculator with tape. That is, the operation selected after the value input sayes, in which way the value input is made the current value. Sample: In order to add the values 25.36, 34.50 and 60.02 you type 25.36+ 34,50+ 60,02+ = on your keyboard.
If this option is activated, you be asked for as Tape Label each time, you print a tape.
The last defined Tape Label will be the default if you repeat printing.
If you select this option, the Tape of the PC Printing Calculators will have an addional column. Each entered value will be exchange rated immediately and display in that additonal column.
If you activate the option Constant Euro conversion, the option 'Input Value is Euro' gives you the ability to choose that your input values are considered to be Euros. So the value calculated to be displayed in the addtional column is exchange rated from Euro to the foreign currency (instead of vice versa, which is the default).
If you activate this option, the PC Printing Calculator behaves like a pocket calculator, that is no fixed decimal digits are used.
If the option is not selected, you can define the number of (fixed) decimal digits as one out of 0 to 5.
Automatic decimal point (Add Mode)
If the option Floating point is not selected, you can also select the option 'Automatic decimal point'. Doing so, you can do decimal value input without type the decimal digit. This means, you can type e.g. 2002 which is considered to be 20.02 by the PC Printing Calculator.
The number of (fixed) decimal digits. This option is only available, if the option Floating point is not selected.
The Value Added Tax percentage used when running one at of the operations Get Value Added Tax from value, Add Value Added Tax to value or Subtract containing Value Added Tax from value with the regular VAT rate.
The Value Added Tax percentage used when running one at of the operations Get Value Added Tax from value, Add Value Added Tax to value or Subtract containing Value Added Tax from value with the alternate VAT rate.
The factor used when running one out the the operations Convert value to Euro, Convert value from Euro or Constant Euro conversion.
Note: Of course you can kind of missuse the Euro conversion for any other curreny conversion, you frequently have to deal with. In fact, you can as well missuse it for any kind of conversion you have to do in your daily work. The funny thing about it is, you have a handy way to do the conversion you prefere or frequently need to do.
